The Ghana Card (GhanaCard) is the national identity card issued by the National Identification Authority (NIA). It is now mandatory for passport applications and many government services. Ghanaians abroad can register at their nearest embassy.

Mandatory for Passports: You cannot apply for or renew a Ghana passport without a valid Ghana Card. If you do not have one, you must register at your nearest embassy before applying for a passport.

What is the Ghana Card?
